I first worked with Erik Sjolund on a rather time-sensitive 1031Exchange transaction where I had found my up leg before I had sold my own leg. He was instrumental in managing the expectations of the seller's agent and keeping the transaction on course. Amazingly enough, Erik got me to buy that building after contacting me out of the blue, basically a cold call. He provided me with enough information that I was intrigued and went to look at it that day. Since that transaction, he has kept up with me -- calling from time to time and showing me just the properties that he knows I would be interested in. Erik always handles himself well and I can certainly speak for his abilities putting transactions together and getting them closed.
I am writing this letter to endorse my highest recommendation of Erik Sjolund to any potential clients he seeks to enter dealings with down in San Diego or elsewhere. I originally developed a relationship with Erik via his reach-out efforts to me while he was marketing an apartment building close to one I own. He continuously kept up with me and always called me when he had or knew of a building close to one of mine. In 2016 I informed Erik that I was listing a building for sale with the broker who sold it to me several years earlier, as is my common practice. I encouraged Erik to run the building by any of his potential clients as the other broker was beginning to market the deal on LoopNet. Sure enough, within a day Erik brought us an offer for more than my asking price from an extremely strong 1031 exchange client with no contingencies.
